Born: February 4, 1962 in Long Branch, New Jersey
Clint Black began his musical career at the age of 13 learning both the guitar and the harmonica. His first single "A Better Man," (1989) went to number one and he was the first new male country artist to have a number one hit with his debut single in 15 years. He has been successful in becoming a cross-over artist with appeal to both country-western and rock fans. He has won the Country Music Association's Horizon Award, Best Album, Single, Best Male Vocalist, and Best New Male Vocalist awards from the Academy of Country Music and the NSAI Songwriter/Artists of the Year Award. He married actress Lisa Hartman on New Year's Eve in 1991. His acting credits include "Maverick" (1994) and "Cadillac Jack and Ponder" (1997).

Clint Black is a Texas success for the entire world. Although he has the image of a Texan, he was actually born in New Jersey, in 1961, but his family had to move to the Houston area soon after that. Through his teenage years, Clint went throught the usual phases of trying to figure out what he wants to do with his life. He got into trouble occasionally, but there was never anything serious about any episode. Just the wrong crowd. He eventually got a job at a local steel factory, and would perform with his brothers in a band at local clubs, company outings, and weddings. Friendships began with local powerbrokers in the country music area, and this is what landed Clint a record deal with Joe Galante and RCA Records in 1989.

His first single "A Better Man," soared to the top of the charts that summer. Soon it was followed by "Killin' Time," which proved that Clint Black was here to stay, at a time when the country music industry was just beginning to flex its muscles in an unending streak of popularity that continues to this day. His album went triple platinum in sales, and in 1994, Clint was the most played artist on country radio. He is one of only a few artists to have collected awards from all the awards shows, such as the CMA, ACM, TNN, Grammy, Billboard, and many others.

In 1991, he met and married actress Lisa Hartman. Their wedding ceremony was very brief and attended by only immediate family and a few close friends. They both live in Los Angeles and Houston.
